How we synthesize: a layered approach
We use a strict four-layer architecture that separates verifiable data from narrative:
Layer 1 — Immutable data: The Swiss Ephemeris provides verifiable planetary coordinates. This is pure math — no interpretation, no randomness.
Layer 2 — Deterministic logic: Our aspect engine identifies exact angular relationships and assigns scores using fixed rules. Every aspect is categorized (Intimacy, Flow, Adventure, Growth) and weighted by orb tightness.
Layer 3 — Expert interpretation library: 280+ human-curated entries map specific planet-aspect combinations to psychologically grounded descriptions. These were written with deep knowledge of both astrological tradition and relationship dynamics.

Privacy by design
Your birth data and relationship dynamics are deeply personal. Our architecture reflects this:
No personal data reaches the language model: Birth dates, birth times, and coordinates are consumed by the ephemeris engine and converted into planetary positions (e.g., "Venus at 14° Taurus") before the narrative layer is involved. The language model receives only privacy aliases, zodiac positions, aspect geometry, and scores — not personally identifiable information.
Encrypted at rest: Birth data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored. Even if the database were breached, the data would be unreadable without the encryption key.

The separation between the math layer (which handles sensitive inputs) and the narrative layer (which handles synthesis) means your personal details stay in the encrypted data store, not in prompts.
